Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

1.     Learn good laboratory practices.

  1. To enhance basic learning skills of the students.
  2. Construct knowledge about various fixation and staining techniques using different biological specimens.
  3. Appraise their knowledge about different mitotic stages by preparing temporary slides of the onion root tip and visualizing the stages by their key features.

Laboratory Course-II (Practical)

 

The student will be able to :

 

CO20: Demonstrate laboratory skills in physics laboratory and analyze the measurements to draw valid conclusions honestly.

 

CO21: Have oral and written scientific communication, and to think critically and work independently.

 

CO22: Have a deep knowledge of fundamentals of nanoscience and technology.

Approach in teaching:

Performing Experiments, Analysis and interpretation of observations, and conclusion.

Class test, Semester end examinations, Viva voce, Practical record file

List of Experiments: 

 

  1. Synthesis of nanoparticles by chemical method.
  2. Synthesis of thin film of nanoparticles by using thermal vacuum evaporation method.
  3. Charactersitic of solar cell as calculation of fill factor, maximum power point and efficiency.
  4. Synthesis of CNTs by CVD method.
  5. Surface area measurement using BET method and calcualation of pore diameter, pore voume and surface area. 
  6. Synthesis of Ag nanoparicles using sodium borohydride (Creighton’s methods)
  7. Study of friction and lubrication by Tribology
  8. Calculation of total number of atom’s and surface atom’s present in a nanopartical of a given size (Theoretical).
