Data Representation: Number Systems (Binary, Octal, Decimal, Hexadecimal), Computer Arithmetic Conversions, ‘+’, ‘-‘, ‘*’,’/’). Signed and unsigned Number Representation in Binary Form, Code: BCD, ASCII, Extended binary coded decimal interchange code, Excess-3, Gray Code, Error detecting and error correcting codes. Software and application software. Proprietary software, Freeware software, Public Domain Software, Open Source software. Simulation software, mobile software and mobile applications.Word Processing Software: Document formatting options, Tables, Bullets and Numbering, Font, Alignment, paragraph formatting, Insert Picture, Clipart, Shapes, WordArt, Header & Footer, Page Layout, Mail Merge, Spelling & Grammar.

Spreadsheet Software: Cell Formatting Options, Formulas and Functions, Charts, Sort, Filter, pivot tables, conditions, grouping. Database software: creating database, creating tables, writing query, designing forms and generating reports.

The birth of web, www, web page, html, scripting languages, home page, web site, web applications, blogs, Web browsers, Web browser helper applications, Web servers, Internet services Search Engines, Newsgroup, Email and its Protocols (telnet, ftp, http, https), Web portals, Chat, Audio and Video conferencing, Social media websites : pros and cons. Introduction to content management system and its types. Configuring an Email program (Outlook Express), Introduction to Web Content management tools like wordpress, joomla, drupal.
